Community Christmas Street Events
Street events are great fun and an excellent way to promote community spirit, created by the community for the community.
Grass-root street events can take many forms with the main aim being that they provide an opportunity for community members to engage with one another and foster a sense of belonging.
A street event is usually a joint effort and relies on the involvement of a good proportion of the street's residents. Through street events, people are supported and encouraged to reconnect with each other as well as provided with a safe setting for sharing and celebrating.
The application form below is designed to assist you with planning what is required for holding a local event that requires the closing of a street under the ownership and/or control of City of Prospect.

Public Notice - Temporary Event Road Closures
Pursuant to Section 33(1) of the Road Traffic Act (The Act), Council declares that the event described below that is to take part on the roads described is an event to which Section 33 of The Act applies and pursuant to Section 33(1)(a) of The Act, makes an order directing that the road on which the below sites, 'Community Christmas Street Events', are to be held and any adjacent or adjoining roads specified below, be closed to traffic on the dates and from the times specified:
