Payinthi (128 Prospect Road, Prospect), including Council offices, Prospect Library and Newmarch Gallery, will close on Thursday 25 April 2024 for the ANZAC Day Public Holiday.

Calls made to Council on 8269 5355 will be transferred to our after-hours service centre, but our online services will still be available, and items (excluding large toys) can be returned in our after-hours return chute on Prospect Road.

All Council services will resume on Friday 26 April 2024.

Justice of the Peace

Local Justices of the Peace volunteer their time to provide a free JP service to the community at Payinthi, 128 Prospect Road, Prospect.

No bookings necessary but to help with your appointment:

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the end of the session
  • Bring appropriate identification as the JP will be required to confirm your identity
  • Ensure that you have the original documents in order to have copies certified
  • In case you require photocopying services, please bring a debit/credit card as we only accept EFTPOS payments.

It is advisable to phone our customer service team on (08) 8269 5355 to confirm that a JP will be available at the allocated time.

Reducing Waiting Times

Our drop-in Justice of the Peace (JP) service is available for those who have no more than 10 pages that need witnessing. Each person is provided with approximately 5 minutes, ensuring that no one needs to wait too long.

If you have complex or multiple documents that need witnessing, such as Advance Care Directives, and require more than 5 minutes, your service may be interrupted once or twice as you will be asked to re-join the queue while others receive assistance.
